Our Mission & Structure

Our Mission

Centering lives on Christ.  We believe that every person needs a life that is centered on Christ and devoted to others.

The Win

Every great team knows what it means to win.  They understand what it takes to be victorious.  But what about as believers and as a church, what does a win look like?  With resounding clarity, we believe that when each person makes Christ the center of their life or as they submit their life completely to Christ then we have gained a great victory for the cause of Christ.  In the bible, that process is called discipleship.  The win for the church is not large attendance or higher offerings (although those can be indicators of effectiveness) instead the “big win” is helping people become more and more like Christ; to put Christ in the center of our lives.

The Steps

What are the biblical steps to attain that win?  How can we, as a church family, achieve this win together?  How can each Christ follower become more like Christ?  Here are the steps.

  • Seek Christ – Each of us are called by God to be seekers.  The primary way we seek the Lord corporately is in our Sunday worship services.  The primary way we do this individually is in our own daily worship and personal prayer times.  Deuteronomy 4:29, “But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul.”
  • Study Christ – Studying the bible is so necessary for all who follow Christ.  The primary way we do this corporately is for everyone to join a life group in our church, to study together with other believers.   The way to do this individually is to find your own time for personal study of God’s word.  Ezra 7:10, Devote yourself “to the study and observance of the Law of the LORD, and to teaching its decrees and laws…”
  • Serve Christ – Jesus is a servant.  His whole ministry was marked by service.  We are called to the same.  Corporately we do this when we join a ministry in the local church.  Individually we do this by having an attitude of service in our everyday interaction with people.  Peter 4:10, “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”
  • Share Christ – Sharing Christ is one aspect of discipleship that is often neglected.  The heart of Christ is that we would lovingly share our faith with others.  Thessalonians 2:8, “We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.”

Our Values

We’ve written values for each of the above actions.  You see, it is one thing to serve Christ, for example, but it is another thing to serve him humbly.  So we’ve written core values or attitudes that Christ expects from all of us.  Here they are.

Passionately SEEK to know and experience God
Faithfully STUDY and live out God’s word
Humbly SERVE the ministry of my church
Lovingly SHARE the incredible story of God’s grace

The Wheel

We graphically portrayed this process as a wheel because the process to becoming more and more like Christ is continual.  It never stops.  For example, you and I may seek Christ for the first time.  We are interested in Him.  But as we grow, we learn that we should be seeking Christ everyday in worship.  Notice also that the wheel is 3-D, which represents this ever deepening relationship with Christ.  Probably the most important aspect of the wheel is that Christ is in the center, thus representing the “win” of having Christ be the center of every person’s life.
