Center Pointe Christian Church, formerly, Lakota Christian, began when the Christian Evangelizing Fellowship saw a need to plant a church in the fast-growing West Chester area of Cincinnati. (Click here for FAQ's on our name change)
The church began as a bible study in a private home in January of 1987 with just a few families. In the early years we met in the Beckett Ridge Country Club and then the Lakota Freshman building.
In 1990 we began to look for a site to build a permanent location. We were able to purchase 16 acres on the corner of Hamilton-Mason and LeSourdsville West Chester roads. We had our first worship service on the property in May 1994. At the time, we averaged 217 in morning worship attendance.
We continued to grow rapidly and by 1997 broke ground for a 26,000 square foot worship, office, and education addition. As we have continued to grow and be blessed, it has become apparent that in order to meet the needs of a growing church, we would need to expand again. So in September of 2003, we broke ground on a new 30,000 sq ft education addition.
Today, more than 1,000 people attend Center Pointe. The church is exciting and vibrant. Even though we’ve had a great past, we definitely believe the best is yet to come.
