HighGear
Our elementary program serves kids from kindergarten through 6th grade. HighGear worship services for K-3rd grade and for 4-6th grade elementary age groups are offered at 10:00 and 11:15 every Sunday morning. HighGear is an energetic time of worship where kids will learn about God’s word through music and creative large group teaching time. Also, during HighGear, kids are assigned to a small group. These groups meet with the same kids and adult leader during the same worship hour every week. Life change can happen in a small group, and we want our kids to grow to know one another and develop a relationship with their adult leaders
In HighGear, we use a small group curriculum called 252 Basics. This curriculum takes a Christlike character and focuses on it for an entire month. We will learn how the Bible can help us live out that character. There are 36 Christlike characters and children will study about each character twice during their time in the elementary program. This curriculum teaches 3 basic truths that we want our kids to embrace before moving into Junior High:
1. I can trust God no matter what. (FAITH)
2. I will treat others the way I want to be treated. (FRIENDSHIP)
3. I must make wise choices. (WISDOM)
OverDrive
Our enrichment sessions called “OverDrive” are offered at 8:45, 10:00 and 11:15. In these sessions, kids have the opportunity to choose activity stations that focus even more on the weekly lesson. In OverDrive, we incorporate CPCC’s “wheel” (Seek, Study, Serve, Share) into our activities. Kids have the opportunity to focus on missions, serving and studying the Bible. They will also be able to take some time and build relationships at some of our cool gaming stations. We no longer offer traditional Sunday school classes, instead OverDrive is a place for kids to do hands-on, center-based activities where they can continue to grow in their faith.
